Strengthen the Canadian Forces and Canadian Coast Guard and expand their search and rescue (SAR) to determine attitudes to certain times of the year, such as the Department of Fisheries and Marine Affairs (DFO) and other institutions.

SAR activity is highly dependent on weather conditions on opening day and the area can be changed depending on the weather or operational risk. The joint efforts of DND, CCG and DFO will provide excellent coverage for the opening of the LFA 33 and 34.
